Lind Lyrics Lifeboat Drill!

Let's play the Lind Lyrics Lifeboat Drill Game.

You're adrift at sea. Your few belongings include a big ol' box of lyrics wrtten by Bob Lind. You keep these sheets of lyrics close to you - always - because you suffer the extreme form of a rare and very specific brain disorder. This disorder robs its victims solely of the ability to remember song lyrics. (I read about this once in the Weekly World News).

Your lifeboat is losing air and you need to jettison excess weight.
You can only keep three sheets of paper .... the lyrics to three songs. All of the rest need to go. The lyrics to three songs to keep forever. The rest ... gone to the deep blue sea, washed out with the waves and stolen from your memory forever.

Which three would you choose? Why?

Oh, only 3 is torturous! I'd have to re-listen to everything again to be thorough, but off the top of my head.....

How The Nights Can Fly
China
Since There Were Circles....We Are Children Still (tied.....ha-ha)

I agree with Rob--this is a torturous, even sadistic--dilemma you have devised for us. Saving only three songs implies that our other favorites are somehow expendable :x . If ties were allowed, I'd have at least twenty of them. Anyway, here is my list:

Elusive Butterfly
Sophia's Lullaby
From the Road

Now I'm depressed... :(

Ha! But you didn't pick "How to Get Depressed". Seriously, I'd have to go with some of the new songs, since I have most of the old song lyrics so deeply ingrained in my memory bank that there would be no need to bring copies along. Now I just have to figure out which 3 of the newer ones I'd choose.

Elusive Butterfly (cliched I know)

We've Never Spoken

Since There Were Circles

Not going to think too hard or the list will change, that'll do for now.

So...let's display some lateral thinking here...

How about we all choose 3 different song lyrics-sheets each before we sail ?

...and Lind can play, a-la the Titanic orchestra, for us as we lurch to our demise...

Till then, my second competition entry is:

She Can Get Along

I Was Looking For You

A Nameless Request

...sail on, good ship Lind... and clear skies and calm seas for all those who sail on her...
